Hello everyone! Welp, I tried to avoid it but was inevitable, just like Thanos. Except I didn't get to wrangle the Infinity Stones off it and snap my way to a victory.
What is "it", you ask? Yep, you guessed it. A hiatus. Or semi-hiatus, if you will.
I really didn't want to go on hiatus. I argued with the idea for a little while, hoping the need for a break would fade. It didn't. Heh. So now for the month of July, I'm stepping back and taking a breather.
I'm sure I'll be back sometime this month for a Trentley and Jynnia story (which I guess is what makes it a semi-hiatus). And I'll still be around, stalking reading all of your posts! But I think I really need a little break from the stress of planning and writing and editing and taking photos for blog posts AND trying to get them up on a schedule. With some other projects I have going on right now, I'm actually looking forward to being able to spend some more time on them. (Not that writing one blog post a week takes up THAT much time. But having one less thing to worry about is freeing.)
Long story short: I've been having a time management crisis lately and it needs remedied ASAP.
Also, it's Camp NaNo month, so I might as well allow myself one somewhat relaxed NaNo before the craziness of November in four months. (what? no, I'm not counting the days. why do you ask? hehe)
SO. I'm taking July off (with the probable exception of a trip to Trentley-and-Jynnia Land), and hopefully I'll come back in August feeling more refreshed!
A couple things before I go. First: IT'S MY 100TH POST. Well... technically last week was my 100th. But I didn't realize it (even though I'd been telling myself for months to keep track of that... lol great job Emily), so we're going to celebrate today, okay? xD I don't even know HOW I've written 100 posts here. Like... what did I even write about all that time? xD
BUT I'm so thankful that you guys have stuck with me through all those rambly, random, ridiculous posts, and I look forward to sharing much more rambling with you in the future. Hehe. (Also, my blogoversary is in TWO MONTHS so prepare for a bigger celebration then WOO-HOO)
AAAND one more thing!! This weekend is Havok's free-for-all, read-all-the-stories-you-want-without-a-membership weekend!! That means that even if you don't subscribe to Havok (which, obviously, you should), this weekend only you can read and comment on all the stories on the website for free!
What's so exciting about this? They're getting ready to put together their Season 3 anthology, and comments and ratings matter in getting your favorite stories in those pages! So, *ahem* if you missed my story The Hero of Parker City from earlier this year, you can read it HERE, and it would mean a lot if you left a comment on your way out!
Well, guys, I think this is the longest hiatus announcement I've ever seen. xD BUT I'm done now and I hope you're all having a lovely holiday weekend! Stay safe, eat some s'mores. Happy Fourth of July, and I'll see you soon!
I hope your hiatus refreshes you!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI am the worst at time management, it has stopped being funny. I'm so behind on a ton of things so I'm decreasing my posts for the next couple of months, too. Have a good break and a great Camp NaNo!
ReplyDeleteHa, I can relate to that. xD Thank you!
DeleteI will miss your posts but I'm proud of you for giving yourself a rest! I'm actually taking a bit of a hiatus for July too! Because, man, I've been tiiiired. o.o And the year halfway point always seems like a good time to step back and recharge for the second half of the year. ^_^
ReplyDeleteI do hope you have a wonderfully refreshing break and that Camp NaNo goes fabulously!
And happy 4th of July!!!
Thank you, Christine! Hopefully we both will have the loveliest of breaks and come back well rested. <3
